Nursery &
Reception Classes
(3 to 5 years)
Teachers ensure that a range of strategies using the Foundation Stage Curriculum are used in learning and that the teaching is varied and adapted to suit the needs of the individual child.
The six areas of learning are:
Personal, social and emotional development
Communication, language and literacy
Mathematical development
Knowledge and understanding of the world
Physical development
Creative development
In each area children’s progress is tracked through a series of stepping stones. Learning experiences are planned to ensure that individuals are appropriately challenged and have all the foundations for future learning securely in place.
Ladybirds & Pre-Nursery Classes
(12 months to 3 years)
We follow the ‘Birth to Three Matters’ curriculum. The framework of this curriculum “takes as its focus the child and steers away from subjects, specific areas of experience and distinct curriculum headings."
It identifies 4 aspects (the strong child - the skilful communicator - the competent learner - the healthy child) which celebrate the skill and competence of very young children and highlights the interrelationship between growth, learning, development and the environment in which they are cared for and educated.
